Sometimes, we need to work with a logo or image in PNG format without having a vector file. To add a line animation to these non-vector files, we can use the Auto Trace feature. This feature detects the edges of the PNG, creates masks, and allows us to work with it as if it were a vector.
Next, we apply the Stroke effect to turn these masks into lines. To make the line appear gradually, we animate it using the End property. For a smoother and more natural animation, we adjust the speed curve with F9 (Easy Ease) and the Graph Editor. If we want the lines to look even more fluid, we can add the CC Force Motion Blur effect.
Finally, once the line animation is complete, we reveal the original logo to finalize the process.
This method is a quick and practical solution to animate PNG files without needing a vector version.
